Wynyard Central, situated in the heart of Wynyard Quarter will create the best of urban living on the water's edge. Construction of East 2 commenced late 2015.  This will see the construction of apartments and town houses adjacent to Daldy Street Park. 

Panuku Development Auckland has teamed up with Willis Bond & Co to deliver the residential component of Wynyard Quarter.

Part of the Wynyard Central development, Wynyard Central was designed by Architectus and is being constructed by LT McGuinness. East 2 will deliver a mix of apartment and town house living options. Construction is expected to be complete late 2017.

The Pavilions construction is nearing completion with internal fit-out of kitchens and bathrooms ongoing. The apartments are progressing well with structural steel installed up to level 8 and the level 7 slab being installed.

Scaffolding is starting to be removed from the Pavillions and reinstatement of the Daldy Street linear Park is underway.

6 June 2017

The Pavilions construction is nearing completion with internal fit-out and final paint coats being completed in Pavilion A1.

The apartments are progressing well with the first level 6 floor slab poured and the structural steel installed up to level 8. Internal steel studs and window openings are being completed across levels 2 and 3. External scaffolding on the west face has commenced installation, and over the next few the scaffolding on the remaining faces will be installed.

The Pavilions construction is well underway as cedar cladding continues to go up at Pavilions A1 and A2. The apartments are also progressing, with precast flooring installed to level 5 and both internal steel stud and external timber framing commenced.

The townhouses are advancing with 50% of the structural steel installed and ongoing progress with the timber floor framing.

27 March 2017

The apartments are continuing to advance with the first level 4 slab and the remaining level 3 slabs being poured. The Pavillions have the first gib and windows being installed in Pavillion A1 with interior fitout occurring in Pavillion A2 and framing progressing in Pavillion A3.

8 March 2017

All floor slabs have now been completed within the Pavilions at Wynyard Central and the interior fitout has commenced.   The tower crane on Daldy Street on the Western side of the site has been demobilised. 

Structural steel is being erected to level 5 on the Eastern apartments.  Level 3 floor slabs are being poured and walls are being erected in preparation for the level 4 flooring units.

15 February 2017

At the Wynyard Central apartments, the level 2 slab has been poured and the first walls to level 3 are currently being poured. Structural steel erection to level 5 is taking shape at the southern end and the middle zone erection is due to begin next week.  The Pavilions fitout and Façade construction is progressing. The crane adjacent to Daldy St is to be dismantled at the end of February.

The pavilion roofs are all underway with the remaining structural steel currently being erected. The interior fit out of the pavilion apartments are advancing with the internal walls and building services installation progressing. 

The first floor slab in level 2 of the eastern apartments has been poured and the next phase of structural steel is being installed to take the building up to level 5. The ground floor and last of the large level 1 concrete pours have also been completed.

16 January 2017

The Daldy St Pavilions are taking shape with the erection of the final precast walls now installed. The second roof slab has also been poured. With the advancement of the exterior works, the interior works are now progressing.  

In the apartment building wall and column pours are ongoing to prepare for the first level 2 flooring units to be installed.  Over half of the level 1 slab has been poured and the ground floor slab is close to completion.

This project is making rapid progress and the exterior structure of the first Wynyard Central Pavilion building is now up to the top level. Service installation continues throughout the structure.


At the apartments to the East of the site the final ground floor support beams are being cast which will allow for the remainder of the ground floor slab to be poured before Christmas.

The level 3 floor slab at the Wynyard Central Pavilions on Daldy St are currently being poured.  Structural steel will start to be erected on levels 3 – 5 next week.

On the apartments behind, half of the ground floor slabs have been poured and the remaining basement to level 2 structural steel is due next week also.

The Wynyard Central Pavilions on Daldy St are progressing well with steel being erected and the second level 2 floor slab now poured.  The first level 1 slab pour on the Wynyard Central Apartments is about to commence and more structural steel is being erected on that side of the site.

East 2 is heading up with the second Pavilion level 1 floor poured and the structural steel on the final Pavilion is being installed.

The first ground floor slab is now poured for the Apartments with more structural steel being erected.

Over on the Apartments, the first structural steel has been erected with preparation underway for the first ground floor slab pour.

On the Pavilions, a productive week was topped off with the first level 1 floor and final ground floor slab pours.

East 2 is moving out of the ground with the final basement slab pour now completed on the eastern side.

On the western half of the site, steel is being erected on the middle pavilion building and level 1 flooring for the southern pavilion building is planned for this week.

  • The first batch of structural steel is now erected on the Daldy St frontage.
  • On the Eastern-side of the site preparation is ongoing for the second ground floor slab.
  • The second lift core panels are in and the final basement slab will be poured later this week.

A successful fortnight of activities has seen the second tower crane erected and the penultimate basement slab pour completed. Preparation for the final basement slab pour is now well underway.

The first panels are being installed on the first floor adjacent to Daldy St with the ground floor starting to take shape.

The first double tees and floor slabs have successfully been installed on the Western side of the site, with more to come in coming weeks. 

Over on the East, a successful basement slab pour was completed in the south and preparations for the next slab pour is well under way.

The second tower crane is ready to go up this week. Progress has been rapid and the building is taken shape.

Precast panels continue to be erected on the Western side of the site. On the Eastern side the first slab pour is due to commence in the coming week. Preparations are almost complete for the first batch of the double tee flooring system. The progress being made will continue to be more visible as the building begins to rise from below ground.

The bulk excavation has been completed. The excavation team will now focus on completing the final foundations. Installation of the basement liner is progressing across the western side of the site. The first basement slab pour is on track for the following week.

As the bulk excavation draws to close works to the western basement are gathering momentum. Construction of the 3 Western liftpits are in full swing and preparations for the first basement slab pour are underway.

The foundations for the second crane on the site, located on the eastern boundary, are being constructed. This second crane is due onsite middle of June.

The sites first tower crane has been erected in Daldy Street linear park. The crane is a Liehberr luffing crane, 25m to the cab tall. It has 45m of jib with a max lift capacity of 13t. It's held in place by a reinforced concrete base sitting on four 900dia piles 25m deep.

All the 151 building piles are now complete. Brian Perry – who were doing the piling works - have now demobilized from site. 

The Daldy Street crane erection is in progress. Work to put the jib on the crane was put on hold due to the high winds Thursday and Friday last week. The crane is being erected completely from within site, so no road closures are required. 

Within the site, bulk excavation continues. Basement construction has started in the south western corner of the site.

Piling operations on the site continues – 123 of the sites 151 piles have been formed. 

Bulk excavation of the site needed to build one basement level, continues. 

Work continues to prepare for our tower crane which will be landing in Daldy Street linear park on this week.

Piling operations on the site continues – 88 of the sites 151 piles have been formed. Bulk excavation of the site, needed to build one basement level, continues. 

Work continues to prepare for our tower crane which will be landing in Daldy Street linear park on Sunday 6 March. The yellow base of the tower crane, which stands 12m tall, will be lifted into place this week. The rest of the crane structure is to be erected on Sunday 6 March 2016 (weather dependent). Lifting the crane in place will required the closure of one lane on Pakenham Street for the day. There will be a traffic controller in place throughout the whole day to direct traffic. We appreciate your patience with us during the lane closure.

Stabilisation of the site is now complete and the HiWays stabalisation machinery has been cleared from the site. Piling operations on the site continues – 52 of the sites 146 piles have been formed. Bulk excavation of the site – needed to build one basement level – has commenced. 

We have started preparation for our tower crane which will be landing in Daldy Street linear park. The piles for the crane have been poured this week. The crane is to be erected on Sunday 6 March 2016 (weather dependent). Lifting the crane in place will required the closure of one lane on Pakenham Street for this day. Stabilisation of the site is 80% complete. The last section of the site to be stabalised is adjacent to Mason Brothers and will be completed over the next couple of weeks. Piling operations on the site continues – 28 of the sites 146 piles have been formed.  

We have started preparation for our tower crane which will be landing in Daldy Street linear park. The piles for the crane are being poured this week.  

In coordination with the other Wynyard Central construction sites, an exit to a construction haul road that cuts through the middle of Wynyard Central block is being constructed on Daldy Street. The Haul Road will service the Site 7, Site 5a, East 2 and Mason Brothers construction projects.   

Pedestrian safety is paramount to us in this space and we are working with other sites, Auckland Transport and Panuku to make sure pedestrians can safely cross and move past this crossing. You will notice some pedestrian safety and crossing initiatives being implemented at this point over the next few weeks. We appreciate your patience while these are being implemented.

In coordination with the other construction sites in the area, an exit to a construction haul road that cuts through the middle of Wynyard Central is being constructed on Daldy Street. The Haul Road will service the Site 7, Site 5a, East 2 and Mason Brothers construction projects. The exit to the Haul Road (and its entry from Halsey street) will be operational in the coming week.

Stabilisation of the site has commenced by sub-contractor HiWays and will continue over November and December 2015. Excavation to remove the concrete slab is continues as stabilisation moves around the site.

Initial excavation to remove the concrete slab is underway. Stabilisation of the site has commenced by sub-contractor HiWays and will continue over the next month. The existing hoarding on Daldy Street has been pushed out to the park edge.
