Auckland Dockline Tram

The Auckland Dockline Tram is back this summer.

We're proud to announce the the Auckland Dockline Tram is back for the summer 2017-2018 season.

Jump aboard the beautifully restored 1920s heritage trams and take a step back in time. Experience a live commentary to learn about the rich history of the area, and see the exciting plans for the future. You can enjoy this experience for a gold coin donation per person.

The tram will operate a reduced two-way service between the Tram Shed in Daldy Street and the tram stop at the northern end of Halsey Street, travelling down to the Fish Market and along Jellicoe Street. The return journey follows the same path back to the Tram Shed. 

The full 1.5km loop will be back in action once road redevelopment works in the southern end of Wynyard Quarter are completed.


Festive season operating times:

Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 December – Daily,10.00am to 4.00pm
Christmas Day – CLOSED
Tuesday 26 December to Sunday 7 January – Daily, 10.00am to 4.00pm


Special New Years eve event:

Tram rides before the Sky Tower fireworks display at midnight. 
Sunday 31 December – 7.00pm to 11.30pm – Dixie Band on board tram between 8.00pm and 10.30pm.

Regular operating hours:

Trams will operate every Sunday and Public Holiday from 10am-4pm for a gold coin donation per person. 

History

The Auckland Dockline Tram service began in 2011 as part of the first stage of the Wynyard Quarter revitalisation and was the first of its kind to run in central Auckland since the last tram left the tracks in the city in 1956.
