Tidal Steps

The Tidal Steps which expand off Karanga Plaza, allow for people to sit and watch the boats go by, get their toes wet or jump right in for a swim.

The tidal stairs provide a symbolic and tactile connection to the waters of the Waitematā and invites touching, swimming and ceremonial arrival.

The generously scaled steps create a natural gathering place and vantage point from which to view the speactacle of the city and water based activity.
